GRAND TRAVERSE CO. -- The Grand Traverse Sheriff's Deputy who pled guilty to disturbing the peace after a bar fight has been fired.

Deputy Ryan Salisbury was relieved of his duties with Grand Traverse County, the Sheriff's Office says.

"Because of Deputy Salisbury's actions on December 6, 2012 and December 7, 2012, which were in violation of General Orders of the Sheriff's Office, we feel that the separation from employment was appropriate," the Grand Traverse Sheriff's Office says in a press release.

Salisbury pled guilty to one count of disturbing the peace in early January.

Salisbury was placed on suspension after the incident, while the Sheriff's Office worked through an internal investigation.
