TRAVERSE CITY -- A national grocery store chain known for it's affordable prices is coming to Traverse City and this week you can land a job at the new location.
ALDI is going to be opening a store near the Home Depot in Traverse City off South Airport. The store will be put into the empty space that used to be the Circuit City.
Saturday, hundreds of job hopefuls gathered at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City for a special hiring event. ALDI is looking to fill approximately 20 positions for this new store, which is slated to open in December 2012.
Opportunities within ALDI include Cashiers and Shift Managers with pay starting at $10.50 per hour.

When: Sunday, Sept. 23 1 p.m. – 7 p.m. & Monday, Sept. 24 7 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Where: Hagerty Center, 715 East Front St. Traverse City, MI 49686
Positions: Cashiers - $10.50 per hour, Shift Managers - $14.50 per hour
Job Requirements:
• Must be 18 years or older to apply
• High school diploma or GED
• Must be available to work anytime between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
• Retail experience preferred
• Drug screening and background check
• Ability to lift 45 pounds
• Travel will be involved during the months of October and November for training
