Humane society celebrates 56 years

TRAVERSE CITY -- The Cherryland Humane Society in Traverse City is celebrating 56 years of service.  The facility is having an anniversary event Sunday, August 26th.

The event goes from noon until 3 p.m. and will include presentations by local veterinarians, the Grand Traverse County Sherriff's Canine Unit and president of the CHS board, Dr. David Burke.

Dr. Burke also recommends that pet owners call the humane society ahead of time if they would like certain topics covered that day.
