TRAVERSE CITY -- The National Cherry Festival has named a new leader.

Trevor Tkach was unanimously voted to be the new Executive Director of the festival.

Tkach has been serving as the Interim Executive Director since last August, when Tim Hinkley retired. He served as the festival's Business Development Manager for five years, and is also credited with the development and growth of several of the festival's profit centers. Tkach was also instrumental in shaping the festival's web strategies and online marketing.

Jan Warren, current Festival President says that with Tkach at the helm, the festival is "positioned well for the future."

The National Cherry Festival will be held July 7th through the 14th along the shores of West Grand Traverse Bay in Traverse City.
