Timothy Evans allegedly stole his own product to boost sales.
TRAVERSE CITY -- A medical equipment sales rep from Traverse City is facing jail time after he tried to scam a local hospital out of hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of supplies.
Timothy Evans has been charged with four felony counts of Larceny.
Police say surveillance video caught Evans taking the equipment from operating rooms at Munson Medical Center. The hospital would then have to purchase more of that equipment from the company Evans worked for.
Munson estimates they lost between $21,000 and $200,000.
Grand Traverse County Prosecutor Al Schneider would not release the surveillance video.
