The investigation continues into a Traverse City West Senior High School teacher who is alleged to have had illegal sexual contact with a student.  Traverse City Area Public Schools superintendent, Steven Cousins sent out a letter to TCAPS parents and staff Monday morning regarding the issue.

The Leelanau County Prosecutor's Office has authorized criminal charges against Lisa Placek including CSC first degree.  Placek is scheduled to be arraigned Monday at 3 p.m.

Since the allegations came about last week, TCAPS immediately removed Placek from the classroom and placed her on leave.  She was terminated from the TCAPS district on January 24th.
