A controversial coloring book highlighting the 9/11 terror attacks is drawing more criticism as the date marking the 10th anniversary of the tragic events gets closer.
A publisher has memorialized 9/11 with new coloring book. "We Shall Never Forget 9/11: The Kids' Book of Freedom," shows drawings of the Twin Towers burning and Osama Bin Laden in the moments before he was shot hiding behind one of his wives.
Wayne Bell, publisher of Really Big Coloring Books, Inc., in St. Louis, says that the book is a memorial tribute and represents patriotism, but Muslims are arguing that the book promotes the same stereotypes that have haunted Muslim Americans for years.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations has condemned the book as "disgusting", saying that it characterizes all Muslims as linked to extremism, terrorism and radicalism, which could lead children reading the book to believe that all Muslims are responsible for 9/11, and that followers of the Islamic faith are their enemies. The publisher and a representative from CAIR debated the book on CNN's Dr. Drew. The entire CNN interview can be seen by clicking on the video player.
