TRAVERSE CITY -- In this month's Matters of the Heart we learn about a non-invasive treatment for people who suffer from angina. Angina is caused by blockages in the coronary arteries that decrease the heart muscle and causes discomfort.
The therapy called EECP or enhanced external counter pulsation involves a comfortable treatment table with inflatable cuffs that are wrapped around a patient's legs to push blood flow up to the coronary arteries.
For more information about the procedure you can check out Munson Medical Center's website.
