The Bay Area Transportation Authority (BATA) is now using a surveillance system that allows them to watch and listen to what is happening out on the road. And it is a practice that is becoming more and more common in northern Michigan.

Some of the recommendations BATA is pursuing include adding a new Traverse City route to serve the Cass/LaFranier corridor, working with Munson Medical Center and Northwestern Michigan College to develop circulator and shuttle services and developing “flex” routes that can accommodate seasonal demand.
