A 61-year-old man from Clarkston, Michigan died on Friday in a snowmobile crash.
The Wexford County Sheriff's office reports that Gerald Carter was traveling east on trail #35 near Fairchild Creek around 11:30 am when his snowmobile left the trail and struck a tree in Cherry Grove Township.
Carter was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Wexford County Sheriff was assisted by Northflight EMS, Cherry Grove Fire Department Snowmobile Rescue and the Department of Natural Resources.
The crash remains under investigation.
