A quick-moving Alberta Clipper exited east earlier Sunday, leaving us with lake effect snow showers. Another low pressure will cross through the straits Monday, bringing more snow showers and bitterly cold temperatures across Northern Michigan.

Lake effect snows will increase in intensity Sunday night, and there are a few things going on. We have a lake effect snow advisory in effect for Chippewa, Emmet, Cheboygan, Charlevoix, Leelanau, Antrim, Otsego, Benzie, GT, Kalkaska, Manistee, & Wexford counties until 5pm Monday due to 4-7" of snowfall by then.

There is also a lake effect snow warning for Luce county until 7am Monday due to 3-6" of snow (especially north of M-28) and west winds gusting around 30 creating low visibilities.

There is a lake effect snow warning in effect for Mason & Lake counties until 5pm Monday due to 6-10" of snow by then and visibilities reduced to half a mile.

Monday through Wednesday will be very cold, Tuesday being the coldest day of the week. Highs these days will stay around 10 degrees, with lows around zero, and many will struggle to get out of the single digits Tuesday. Add in the wind chill and it will feel more like 5 to 25 below! Remember to bundle up and bring your pets in when it's this cold!

We'll keep snow showers likely through Wednesday, and then heading into Thursday and Friday they'll become more scattered and we'll see a few peeks of sunshine.

Stay warm and stay safe on the roads!
