GAYLORD -- Update 10:30pm: A dangerous gunman is behind bars Saturday night, after running from police for several hours in Gaylord.
Michigan State Police say the search started at round 2:45pm Saturday afternoon, when troopers responded to a home on Old 27, south of Old State Road in Otsego County, on reports of a possible suicidal man.
The suspect had ventured into woods and was reportedly carrying multiple guns. When police arrived, they heard shots being fired in the woods, so they quickly established a perimeter and attempted to establish communication with the man.
During this time, Old 27 was closed to drivers. Police say at around 5:30pm the suspect was located by K-9 units and arrested.
7&4 News is told no one was injured during the incident and the man is currently being held in the Otsego County Jail.

Update 5:35pm: 7&4 News is told the armed and dangerous suspect has been arrested. The surrounding roads will open back up in about 15 to 20 minutes.

Authorities in Gaylord are searching for an armed and dangerous suspect Saturday night and warning residents and drivers to avoid the search-area.
Details are limited at this time, but the Interim Otsego county 911 Director and Otsego County Administrator John Burt says that authorities are actively searching for an armed and dangerous man.
Burt says police have blocked off the search area, where Old State Road and Mancelona Road cross Old 27 South in Gaylord. Burt says residents are asked to stay away from this area.
Witnesses on the scene tell 7&4 News that authorities were scene searching the woods behind M&M Excavating off Old State Road.
