TRAVERSE CITY -- One person is behind bars after a string of thefts in downtown Traverse City.

The 18-year-old Traverse City man was arrested this week after a store owner confirmed the theft through a store video system.

City Police were called to "Critters Clothing" on the 200 block of East Front Street for a stolen stuffed animal.  A description of the suspect was given to police and the person was spotted near Front and Pine Streets. Police say the stolen item was found in a backpack and several other items from Critters and Mr. Bill's T-Shirt business were also found.

The man had a total of eight items that police say were confirmed to be stolen, and several other items from area businesses believed to be stolen.  He is facing Retail Fraud charges.
