Question What is your premier service? Answer We provide the people in Northern Michigan the opportunity to participate in clinical research studies and receive potential treatments that may not otherwise be available. We provide close follow up and monitoring, including physical exams, blood work, ECG's and nurse visits, at no charge, as part of their participation in a trial. Question What is the most common question customers have about your business? Answer "What kind of studies do you do?"
We perform studies on medications that are not yet FDA approved in an effort to gain approval for these medications. Question What is the one thing you would like potential customers to know about your business? Answer They get excellent care and are followed closely by both nurses and doctors. We all love what we do and are committed to our patients. Question What sets your business part from your competition? Answer We are all medically trained (RN's and MD's) and provide a very comprehensive approach to the patient's healthcare needs. We focus on education and encourage questions. Question Why is it important to customers that they think about the product or service you offer? (before they need it) Answer New medications take up to and beyond 7 years in the research process before they are approved and available for prescription. Becoming involved in a research trial may not help make these new medications available immediately, but will help shorten the amount of time it takes for the FDA to approve them for use--perhaps for the patient involved in the study, or for the next generation. Question What can happen to customers who neglect a service you offer? Answer If people chose not to participate in clinical trials, it simply takes longer for the medications to be made available to the public, or the drug companies do not get enough data to submit for approval, thus "killing" the drug altogether, regardless of the potential benefit (benefit must be proven through studies). Question Why is it valuable to customers to get to know you and your staff? (build a relationship) Answer We offer a variety of trials that individuals may participate in. From high blood pressure to diabetes, chronic pain and ear infections. Keeping up with our current offerings allow individuals the opportunity to participate in multiple studies over time. Patients often get a stipend to reimburse them for their time and travel expenses, and may benefit directly form the study (the study drug might help them) or indirectly (they may get testing they would otherwise not have access to and receive education on their medical condition and current medications as a refresher to help empower them in their healthcare decisions). Question What do you contribute to your community? (Charity work, environmentally friendly products, employment, etc.) Answer I am a volunteer EMT for my local agency, serve as the Township Clerk, sit on an advisory Committee on the County level, and teach CPR and EMS continuing education classes. Question What do customers need to know before they come in or call you? Answer We are happy to answer questions! Question What services do you offer that many people don't know about? Answer Physical Exams and ECGs as well as blood work are commonly included in clinical trial procedures and are at no charge if a patient wishes to be evaluated for a study.
