CHARLEVOIX -- A park in Charlevoix is getting a facelift thanks to a government grant.

Nearly $44,000 is being awarded to Shanahan Field to replace the old play structure and splash pad.

The money comes from the Michigan Natural Resources Trust Fund.

It was raised through sales of the State's Recreation Passports, which replaced the window stickers you used to need to get into state parks.

In all, over $735,000 was awarded through the program to park projects around the state.
