EMPIRE -- UpNorthLive's Facebook Fans voted to hear more about what Northern Michigan is doing to celebrate National "Get Outdoors Day".
As a part of the national initiative to get people outside, the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore will be waiving fees to enter the park on Saturday. The initiative is designed to encourage everyone to get outdoors and be active in their National Parks.
The National Lakeshore is one of 397 parts of the national park system that will waive their entrance fees on Saturday. The other fee-free days this year are September 29, for National Public Lands Day, and November 10-12 for Veterans Day Weekend.
