AFRNT, which stands for All for Reaching New Talent (pronounced “A-front”), features Michigan-themed skate and surf apparel. Several local models, among them Savanna Daniels and Erica Fletcher, showcase the clothing on the company’s website. Daniels, originally from Fife Lake, participated in America’s Next Top Model Cycle 19 this fall. Fletcher, originally from Petoskey, currently models and acts in Los Angeles. Myers has also worked with Cholette Photography, Saige Photography and Pete Walters Photography, all from Traverse City.AFRNT was in the works for eight years before Myers designed the Spring/Summer 2012 line. According to Myers, his initial hesitation to establish the company was due to a lack of confidence. “…I began building walls around it,” Myers said. “As I began conceptualizing it, I gained more and more confidence…Confidence is a huge factor for me because I understand firsthand how important it is when you want to pursue something that you love. You must take risks in trying something new and confidence will allow you to take that risk.”Myers found that opening himself to inspiration from other like-minded individuals was key to AFRNT’s success. “I am simply one guy, with one camera, with passion and a goal. AFRNT is my story. I seek to help individuals that are just like me to develop their story. To inspire them to dive into whatever field they are passionate about.” AFRNT’s website defines the company as “a design-driven lifestyle brand supporting individuality and the beauty of creating the path of one’s self.” While Myers hopes to find a Traverse City store to host his clothing line by early 2013, he is presently focusing on collaborating with Michigan-based designers and models to further establish and define his company. ###
