Cool drinks for summertime refreshment

So here are some easy-to-make recipes for summer drinks, they taste so good you’ll never guess how good they are for you! Great, healthy thirst-quenchers for hot summer days.

Peachy Iced Green Tea Recipe

INGREDIENTS

6 green tea teabags
6 cups cold water
2 ripe peaches, pitted and sliced

1. Place teabags in a large teapot or pitcher.

2. Put sliced peaches in a saucepan, add cold water, and bring to a brisk boil, then pour water and peaches over teabags.

3. Steep for 6 minutes, then add sweetener (maple syrup, honey or Succanat are recommended). Allow tea to cool, then refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.

4. Include a few peach slices in each glass and serve with a spoon, garnished with a sprig of mint, if you like.

Even Easier Alternative Method: Make a pitcher of green tea and add the contents of a can of organic sliced peaches. Chill thoroughly.

Makes 6 servings.

Cherry Ice Cream Punch

Punch recipe made with cherry flavored drink mix, sugar, milk, ice cream, and carbonated water.

Ingredients:

  • 1 envelope cherry flavored drink powder (not sweetened)
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 quart vanilla ice cream
  • 1 quart carbonated water

Preparation:

Combine drink powder and sugar; dissolve in milk. Add scoops of ice cream and pour carbonated beverage over all. Serve immediately.

Best Lemonade Ever 

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 3/4 cups white sugar
  • 8 cups water
  • 1 1/2 cups lemon juice
DIRECTIONS
  1. In a small saucepan, combine sugar and 1 cup water. Bring to boil and stir to dissolve sugar. Allow to cool to room temperature, then cover and refrigerate until chilled.
  2. Remove seeds from lemon juice, but leave pulp. In pitcher, stir together chilled syrup, lemon juice and remaining 7 cups water.
