Christina was born in Pennsylvania, but grew up in Saline, Michigan (just outside Ann Arbor).

When she was five, a tornado came through her area and blew a massive pine tree through half of her house (Lycoming County, PA, August 13, 1990). She's been obsessed with weather ever since.

Christina went to Hillsdale College for one year, and finished her bachelor's degree in Earth Science/Meteorology at Michigan State University. After returning to Ann Arbor and working as a research assistant for the University of Michigan, she completed an internship at WDIV Detroit. In working with the great team of people there, Christina realized broadcasting is what she likes to do.

She enjoys communicating the science of weather as well as interacting with the public. So, she went down to Mississippi State University for her master's degree in Geosciences, with an emphasis in Broadcast Meteorology.

While there she also completed an optional thesis concerning climate change and mallard migration. She was lucky enough to be chosen for the Miss. St. Great Plains storm chase and greatly enjoyed traveling around the country for 18 days-saw five tornadoes and got a whole lot closer to her classmates! She also had the opportunity to compete in the Oklahoma State National Forecasting Contest (placed in top 10 for Green Bay, WI and top 5 for Cincinnati, OH of 1600+), and be a member of the winning team! Christina loves running (which is good because she also loves food) and being outdoors, as well as spending time with her great family and friends.

She proudly cheers on the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Detroit Red Wings. To her, fall Saturdays equal college football, and while she'll watch mostly any game, she primarily roots for Michigan, Michigan State, and Mississippi State.

Christina is very excited to move to Traverse City and can't wait to experience everything Northern Michigan has to offer!
