Kate Fox, the newest addition to the 7&4 news team, started in October 2010 as a multi-media journalist.
She is very excited to call Traverse City her new home. As a lifelong vacationer of Harbor Springs, she truly appreciates the culture and beauty of Northern Michigan.
Kate grew up in Rochester Michigan and lived in East Lansing while she attended Michigan State University. She graduated from MSU in 2009 and received her Bachelor of Arts in Advertising.
After graduating from MSU Kate decided to further her education and attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts in Southfield.
Kate’s interest in the broadcasting industry began at MSU when she did a summer promotions internship at WXYZ Channel 7 News in Detroit.
While at Specs Howard, Kate did another internship at WJBK FOX 2 News in Detroit.
She was exposed to the energy of a fast paced newsroom and really discovered her passion for creative writing and reporting. Her eagerness and enthusiasm to get even more experience led her to WEYI NBC25 in Flint where she interned and frequently filled in as a weekend reporter.
When Kate isn’t reporting the news, you will probably find her singing somewhere. For more than a year she has been the lead singer of a band based out of Metro Detroit that focuses on Dance, Funk, Motown, R&B, Rock, Soul and Top 40 music. She really has a passion for performing and singing on stage.
She also loves to spend time with her family and friends.
Kate is thrilled to be a part of the Traverse City community and cannot wait to explore the amazing benefits of living in such an extraordinary place.
