Lauren Amstutz Reporter

Hometown: Toledo, OH
Lauren joined the 7&4 news team in October 2009. She grew up in Toledo, Ohio but her favorite childhood memories are fishing for pike and listening to loons from her family’s cottage in Manistique, Michigan.
Prior to moving north, Lauren worked at WNWO NBC 24 News as the morning news producer. While there, she took every opportunity offered to fill-in as a reporter for the station. Reporting is her passion and that’s why she feels so blessed to finally be doing what she loves in the Traverse City area.
Lauren went to University of Toledo where she majored in Communication and English. While in college she was the sports anchor and reporter for the school television station, Rocket Report. As the “sports girl” she shared the sidelines with her father who was the head football coach for UT.
Lauren also has been working with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since 2004. As a member of Tri Delta, she helped raise millions for the young patients. In 2006, Lauren had the opportunity to visit the research hospital located in Memphis, Tennessee.
Home will always be Toledo, but she is thrilled to be living in Traverse City. In her spare time she loves to go shopping with her mom and sister, play with her yellow lab Marley, read, jog along Grand Traverse Bay, eat smoked whitefish dip made locally, and travel.
