Edward R. Murrow Award winning journalist Marc Schollett joined 7&4 News in September of 1999 as the weekend anchor and reporter. He currently co-anchors 7&4 News at 5, 6 and 11pm. Prior to joining the team, Marc launched his broadcasting career at ABC 29 and 8 in Traverse City. As a reporter and anchor Marc has earned awards from the Associated Press, The Michigan Association of Broadcasters, and the National Television News Director's Association for his coverage of breaking news, features stories, and investigative work. His series, Water Watch, has also recieved awards from the Sierra Club as well as the Society of Environmental Journalists. Marc has been recognized by the United States Army Reserve with the Seven Seals Awards for outstanding support of the Guard and Reserves.

While Marc loves his job, it couldn't be further from what he studied at college. He was a biology major at the University of Michigan and earned his Masters degree in freshwater ecology at Loyola University in Chicago.

Marc's love for the outdoors and the natural world is something he shares with his wife, Val, his seven year old son Andy and his four year old son Ben. During the fall, the best chance to find Marc is in his deer blind deep in the Upper Penisula woods or out west elk hunting in Idaho.

Marc recently completed his first 140.6 mile Ironman triathlon and is currently working on a long term goal to run a marathon in all fifty states, with only 12 down he still has a lot of running to do, but lots of time to get them done!
